Samaj Sebi Sangha Durga Puja
One of the most eminent Durga Puja organizing committees of Kolkata, Samaj Sebi Sangha kept their theme of Durga Puja on their 72nd year as ‘Sabujer Obhijaan’ with the aim of evoking awareness among the parents about providing a careful affectionate upbringing to their children rather than pushing those delicate flowers of civilization to the darkness of stress. The pandal was decorated with rusted iron and unused parts of various iron made instruments portraying the inhuman transformation of anthropoid to android in today’s rat race world.
Being in charge of the PR campaigning of the Puja, we recommended journalists from leading media houses to observe the pre-puja preparations which included pandal decoration, interacting with the secretary of the organizing committee on his vision and mission. A never seen before 1.4 km street long ‘Rangoli’ was created by enthusiastic people with the cooperation of celebrated community of the society, gaining a lot of appreciation from in and outside the state. Besides, to break free the youngsters from the monotony of the huge academic and curricular pressure, Samaj Sebi Sangha, called for a Kite festival on the day of Vishwakarma Puja as a part of their pre-durgapuja celebration.
Every year, with the onset of Durgapuja, more or less all the Puja committees try to give out some message to the population; and the message conveyed through Samaj Sebi Sangha’s theme puja could bring about some positive impact on today’s strict parents and was acclaimed in the critic level.
