Kailash Satyarthi’s ‘Bharat Yatra’

Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi embarked on a nationwide march, ‘Bharat Yatra’ in India with the mission of raising awareness and action against child sexual abuse and trafficking, covering 22 states in 35 days. He started from the southernmost tip of peninsular India, Kanyakumari, passing through Kashmir and ended in New Delhi.
The objective was to make sure Children’s rights activist Kailash Satyarthi’s message reaches every corner of the country and make the citizens aware of the burning issue that is happening every day around us. TAG Communis was tasked with the PR campaign for Eastern India coverage of the countrywide march. Continuous reporting directly from the across country march against child abuse and trafficking made people see the appeal of the children. Eminent press and media houses covered the campaign from the commencement till the closing ceremony in New Delhi, in the presence of President Shri Ram Nath Kovind.
Many survivors and their parents along with over a million of common public joined various rallies across different places. The campaign was expected to reach at least 1 crore stake holders around the country and the amount of respond gained in support of the Bharat Yatra exceeded all expectation. It was great honour working with this gem of a person, doing so much for the future generation of the country and eradicating one of the social evils that affect several thousand children every year.
